Archery and Smoothies

Our scripture clue for our activity today was from the Book of Jarom. The scripture clue  says....

"And we multiplied exceedingly, and spread upon the face of the land......... making all manner of tools of every kind to till the ground, and weapons of war—yea, the sharp pointed arrow, and the quiver, and the dart, and the javelin, and all preparations for war".

So we got our weapons and had some serious preparations for war.

I found some simple bow and arrow sets at the dollar store....

Then we had a little "War" of our own.  More a tournament, I suppose.  We hung a slightly retarded looking hool-a-hoop from the ceiling and had a contest to see how many arrows they could get through the hool-a-hoop. They had lots of fun with this.  Even Sebastian tried to participate by throwing balls (bombs) through the hool-a-hoop.

After the Big tournament, the kids just played "WAR" for hours ....setting up barriers with chairs and blankets, hiding and then shooting one another.  What a great way to teach them peace on earth...right???

Saturday our scripture clue was from Doctrine and Covenants 89:16 which says.....
"All grain is good for the food of man; as also the fruit of the vine; that which yieldeth fruit, whether in the ground or above the ground".

So we went out for smoothies.

Isn't that so exciting?  For our kids YES, because we don't do that very often.
