Eggs, Motion and Mentos

Mosiah 16:8 was our scripture clue on Saturday......

"But there is a resurrection therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ."

The kids always give their best guess to what I have planned...based on the scripture chapter.....and Derek was cracking me up with his guesses today. He wanted to know if we were going to wrap each other up in toilet paper and "play dead"! I hadn't even thought of that .....BUT, what an excellent activity to have on a day when I am feeling super yucky! I told him I would keep that one for a back up plan!

We actually had an Easter hunt with candy and eggs and all that fun stuff, instead. The kids were very excited to get their Easter baskets out and hunt around for some goodies.

Who says it has to be Easter to have an egg hunt. Had I been feeling more ambitious, we would have colored eggs and had our typical Easter meal.....but, they seemed to be fine with going straight for the candy!

Although the egg hunt is just a fun tradition for Easter, it was nice to once again remind the kids what a wonderful promise it is that we will all be resurrected and what the true meaning of Easter is.

Monday our scripture clue came from Alma 30:44:

"...The scriptures are laid before thee, yea, and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a supreme creator."

So we went to our own place of motion...a place called "kids In Motion". What a great place to get all their wiggles out.

And for TODAY (Tuesday).....Alma 32:27 was our scripture clue......

"But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words."

So we did a little 'ol experiment with Mentos and Diet Cola.

Apparently, you add at least 5 mentors to a bottle of diet coke and it creates a little fountain that is awesome to behold for about 2.3 seconds. Here....wanna see...

The fun is trying to push all of them in as fast as you can while getting out of the way. You should try it!   Who would have thought that such a strange combination could produce such a ta-dooooo!
